On Monday, the court was told communication data and evidence obtained from phones recorded Ms Wandelt consistently demanding Madeleine's mother for a DNA test during the past two years.

Madeleine's vanishing in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a vacation in Portugal - is one of the most covered missing child cases and is still unresolved.

'I Don't Want Money'

One phone message, shared in court, documented Ms Wandelt saying: "I realize I'm fat and unattractive like Madeleine was, but I feel what I know."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's answerphone said: "Suppose there is a tiny probability that I am she? What then? Is that not important for you?"

"I don't want money, I maintain a living here in Poland, I just want to understand," the recording stated.

The jury was advised that by means of electronic messages, mobile messages and calls, Ms Wandelt asked for a DNA test, sent early photographs to her phone in a bid to show a likeness to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and asserted to have "recollections" from a early life with the McCanns.

The investigator, a data specialist with the police force who collated the information, told the court there "didn't appear to be any answers" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also reached out to family friends of the McCanns, as per the call data.

On October 9th, 2024, the father picked up a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, stating she had "a wrong number."

On that occasion Ms Wandelt recorded a recording on Mrs McCann's voicemail declaring "I won't give up and I will prove my claim."

The court heard Mrs Spragg established a connection through digital means with Ms Wandelt prior to assisting her on a trip to the McCanns' property in Leicestershire in last December.

Call logs revealed Mrs Spragg had communicated via communication app to Mrs McCann to say the news outlets had depicted Ms Wandelt as "a crazy person" but that she ought to be taken seriously in the months leading up to the appearance to the village, the county, in December 2024.

The court was told correspondence between the two defendants, in last November, discussing endeavoring to obtain Mrs McCann's DNA samples from her trash or from cutlery at a restaurant.

"We have to assert ourselves," the co-defendant told Ms Wandelt.

On the occasion of the visit to their home, Mrs Spragg dispatched a message which said: "We find ourselves positioned adjacent to the McCanns' residence with our headlights off like detectives. I desired to accomplish this with Peter Andrew I never thought I would be involved in this with the McCanns."

The case proceeds.
