Barça to Host Inaugural Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday

Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league over two years since relocating to allow renovations to start.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited with 45,401 fans are permitted inside based on approved permits. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.

Preparatory Events

The club conducted a public practice at the Camp Nou on 7 November. The club said they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt next month at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place in the temporary ground.
