British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday night. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on Monday, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his close associates.
Healing from Light Wounds
The boxer had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his management team stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.
“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.
Remembering the Victims
The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
His release from the hospital arrives after the global fight fans had expressed sympathy for the fighter in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
