Kansas City Chiefs Confirm Domestic Violence Allegations Involving Player the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement Wednesday night indicating they have knowledge of claims of abuse made public in online accounts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver the athlete and were in communication with the NFL.
The organization omitted the name of Rice specifically in their statement and stated they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.
Claims Shared on Social Media
The woman, who likewise did not name Rice by name, shared a series of photos on social media that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. Jones stated the person involved was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with Rice, whom the team selected in the second round.

No official complaints were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Player's Recent Off-Field Troubles
Rice missed the initial part of this season following an league-mandated ban for his role in causing a crash on a Dallas highway that left several individuals injured. Rice was given 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
