The rising star maintains considerable social media audience
Kai Trump can count on numerous prominent backers as she makes her first LPGA appearance on Thursday.
This teenage golfer, who happens to be the granddaughter of Donald Trump, was granted a tournament invitation to participate at the Annika competition in Florida.
Her grandfather, a passionate golfer, possesses numerous golf courses and frequently plays against his granddaughter.
"He's pretty good. I can't say much but we have some close matches," she mentioned.
The golfer shared that her grandfather, who cannot attend, told her: "Just avoid anxiety."
"My grandpa basically suggested to go out there and have fun," she explained.
"To me, he's simply a regular grandfather. He's not attending this weekend. He's busy with world affairs, so he's rather occupied."
Being non-professional, the golfer has competed in just three tournaments in 2024 and maintains ranking 461 in AJGA listings.
But she can receive tips from 15-time major champion, romantically involved with Kai's mother.
"He is the best player worldwide," Kai expressed.
"Furthermore, he's an even better person. He suggested me to compete, enjoy myself, adapting to the flow."
She'll challenge several the biggest names in women's golf at this tournament, such as world number two the champion, England's golfer Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.
Officials commented that involving Kai helps introduce golf to wider groups, specifically among younger fans.
The young star boasts a massive following and has started an exclusive fashion and living brand.
The competition starts at 5:30 PM GMT.
